Ladder Association Training & Customer Feedback

Introduction

As a responsible company with a core objective of keeping people safe when working at height, we cannot recommend ladder user and inspector training enough, so much so that every member of our team has completed accredited training, regardless of their job role or seniority. Our Managing Director Gail is currently the chair of the Ladder Association which helps us keep on top of current legislation, to enable us to continue to keep safety our top priority.

Is Ladder Training a Legal Requirement?

In short, ladder training is not a legal requirement, however each person using ladders must be competent. This means that every person who works at height using ladders should have the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to use the equipment safely. It may seem like an easy task to open some steps and walk up the treads, however there are many other safety elements such as pre-checks and the position of locking bars to consider.

How Do I Prove Competency?

Accredited training is the perfect way for users to stay safe when working at height. Delegates who complete Ladder Assocation training will receive a photo ID card, valid for 5 years, which is one way of proving competency when working at height. The employer is responsible for ensuring all employees using ladders are competent; this may not seem important to some; however, opinions of this drastically change after accidents and falls from height within your business.

Ladder Association vs In House Training

There are several companies online where ladder training can be found, however not all courses are accredited and are completed by in-house training providers. Whilst the basics will likely be covered with in-house training, this is not something we provide. With Ladder Association accredited training we are confident the course has been reviewed by industry experts and has a structured agenda covering everything a user needs to know. The accredited training also ends with the users taking an exam to prove competency, when successful an Photo ID card is then issued.

Ladder Association Training – Customer Feedback

We hold Ladder Assocation accredited training at our training center in Bolton, however, we can also hold training at your site for a number of delegates should this be more suited to your business needs. In our past training sessions we recorded feedback from our delegates and are happy to announce that 100% of delegates would recommend the course and found it useful.

The majority of our delegates taking part in ladder user and inspector training are typically on-site using ladders every day, so to hear such positive feedback from our course from this type of customer shows the course is well run and structured.

The main learning points from our delegates are that they now feel more competent and comfortable when working at height, they understand the elements of how to inspect ladders before working at height and when to carry out pre-checks, being aware of what to look out for. A proportion of our delegates also mentioned that they didn’t tend to inspect ladders after transportation or storage, which they will do in future.

Every delegate we received feedback from in the past 3 months gives us 100% positive feedback from our training and pointed out that he was very knowledgeable, clear, concise and most of all patient.
