Manual handling training is aimed at operative type roles whose main duties and role includes the manual handling of tools, articles and materials. The Manual Handling Operations Regulations apply to a wide range of handling activities, which includes lifting, lowering, pulling and carrying. Manual handling isn't limited to boxes and stock in warehouses but also includes animate objects including people or animals, making it suitable for a range of roles.
In this half a day course delegates will learn about current legistaltion and codes of practice as well as the reccomended lifting limits and the correct way to handle items to limit the risk of injury. The course content includes:
- Review of current legislation
- Review of current codes of practice
- Recommended lifting limits
- correct handling techniques
- injuries awareness
- Manual handling assessments
- Short theory test
Upon completion of this half day training course, each delegate will have an understanding on the best handling techniques and how to avoid injury. No prior experience is needed on our manual handling course and upon completion a certificate will be provided valid up to 3 years.
