Frequently Asked Questions

What Is A Kickstep?

Kicksteps are extremely portable and versatile and are used in a number of environments including schools, around the home but more commonly in retail stores. Kicksteps are low-level platforms that can easily be moved around to reach higher shelves or storage points.

Do Kicksteps Have Standards?

Kicksteps do have a classification and they fall under GS classifications. When purchasing a kickstep, especially for businesses you should try to purchase to the GS classification. Safety features of this standard include a castor system ensuring the platform cannot be moved when weight is applied.

Are kick stools safe?

Kick stools are designed with a castor system and therefore when weight is applied the kick stool becomes static and very sturdy. The kick stools on our website are also GS approved for extra piece of mind.

How often should kick stools be inspected?

We’d recommend inspections to take place at the same frequency as ladders. Depending on how often you use it, you should inspect your kickstools and steps at 3, 6 or 12 month intervals. We do also recommend a personal pre-inspection or any equipment before each use. More information on inspecting a kick stool and step can be found on our Ladder Association Training Course.
