The first aid at work course is over three days and gives delegates the skills, knowledge and practical experience to enable them to carry out first aid in the workplace. This course includes practical excercises and scenarios to help delegates understand the topics learnt on the course in more detail. By the end of this course delegates should be able to act safely, promptly and efficiently during emergancies at work and use first aid equipment as well as completing relevent documentation. They will understand the importance of personal hygiene in the first aid procedure as well as other aspects of important information such at the contents of a first aid box, and what is and what is not the responsibility of a first aider.
This first aid at work training course is delivered in a classroom facility with a maximum of 12 delegates at once to enable time for questions and to clear up any confusion that may occur during the days. There is no past experience needed and this course and there is no PPE required. As with other training courses this can also be held on site should this be of interest.
Full Course Agenda Is Completed In A Classroom And Includes:
- Assessing the casualty
- CPR
- Unconsciousness
- Wounds and bleeding
- Injuries to bones, muscles or joints
- Burns and scalds
- Eye injuries
- Shock
- Poisoning
- Casualties overcome by gas or fumes
- Recognition and treatment of illness
- Transportation of casualties
- Client specific subjects including diabetes and epilepsy
