Can I get double handrails on a platform step ladder?

Yes, double handrails are also on a platform step ladder, these give you the maximum amount of security and protection, offering increased support and safety while climbing. Do however note if climbing the ladders with large objects the handrails can become a little restricting having them on both sides.

What is a swingback step ladder?

A swingback step ladder, also known as a builders step is a self-supporting portable ladder without a platform. As a swing back step ladder does not have a platform the overall closed height seems to be smaller which makes it ideal for transportation and storage.

Can I stand on the top of a swingback step ladder?

In short, No. The HSE recommend you do not stand on the top three treads on the swingback stepladder. The reason for this is that if you’re standing on the top of a swingback step ladder and your weight distribution changes the ladder is more likely to fall from underneath you.
