At Ladderstore we believe strongly in giving back to the community. Our team has participated in the events listed below, as well as a list of great charities that we support.

Bolton Lads & Girls Club Patrons

Our local community means a lot to us because it is one of our core values. We are official patrons of the Bolton Lads And Girls Club who make a huge impact in the local community. The donations go towards sports facilities, mentoring sessions, art classes, and making young people's childhoods brighter.

The club is a firm believer in putting people to work. We are not only patrons of the club, but we also attend many of their events, such as the Big Shop and the Beer Festival.

Ladder Association

Our Managing Director is also the Chairman of the Ladder Association. This means she and our team are always the first to know about new ladder classifications and regulations for working at heights. This ensures that we can provide the safest products while also informing our customers and keeping them safe.

Working Well Together Group

We are part of the Working Well Together Group to help our customers learn and follow health and safety rules to help keep them safe. Every year, thousands of construction workers are injured or killed on the job, and we can continue to reduce this figure if we all work together.

Ladderstore Supports Circus Starr

Every year we make a contribution to Circus Starr, a fantastic charity that allows vulnerable and disabled children to experience a trip to have a magical time at the circus. Our contribution allows children to escape for the day, if only for a moment, by delighting their senses and restoring the magic of childhood.

Football Shirt Friday

On the 27th of April 2018 our team took part in Football Shirt Friday, they wore their team colours to work and made a donation to the Bobby Moore Fund. This charity is dedicated to researching and developing treatments for bowel cancer, which sadly took Bobby Moore's life. In total, our team contributed more than £150 to the fund.

Gail & Gareth Help Pack 50,000 Meals To Fight Hunger

Our Managing Director Gail Hounslea and Operations Manager Gareth Monger went to support the Bolton Lever Rotary at Sharples School in Bolton on April 14th, 2018. Gareth and Gail prepared meals that would be distributed to low-income families all over the world, allowing children to attend school. The pair also collected dry food and tins which were then distributed locally. They did this amazing event in order to support Rise Against Hunger and The Trussell Trust.

Gareth's Marathon for Prostate Cancer

On 8th April 2018, we supported our Operations Manager, Gareth Monger, who is passionate about standing up to Prostate Cancer UK and supporting them in the best way he can.

Gareth took on the enormous challenge of running the 26.2 mile Manchester Marathon. Congratulations to Gareth, who finished the marathon in 3 hours and 23 minutes and raised a whopping £2,465.01.

Gareth gave this enormous sum of money to Prostate Cancer UK in the hope of finding a cure for this terrible disease.

Fundraising for Martin Hibbert

After the awful events that occurred on the night of 22nd May 2017.  Our team held a family and friends barbecue to raise funds for Martin Hibbert and his daughter who sustained life-changing injuries in the Manchester Arena Attack. We not only had a great time talking to family, friends, and residents in the local community as a team, but we also managed to raise £470 to help with Martin and his daughter's long-term recovery.

Sponsor a poppy campaign for Armistice Day

In October 2016, we joined the communities of Bromley Cross and Astley Bridge to remember the great British servicemen and women who died or were injured during the world wars. The community banded together to place massive poppies on lampposts throughout the area. Over 100 poppies appeared on Darwen Road lampposts as a community.

Other Charitable work

The above is just a select few of the work we do with the local and wider community. We also donate monthly to Charity Water a non-profit organisation that aims for all families in developing countries to have access to clean and safe drinking water.  We also support Blessing in Disguise a charity based in Wigan that raises funds to provide a range of special needs equipment to enhance the lives of terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children and young people.

Our Managing Director Gail Hounslea is the Chair Person and a Trustee of Eagley Junior School.
