T&I give the Ladderstore team a Zig Zag Concertina Ladder Demonstration
If you keep up to date with our social media and blog posts you will already know that at Ladderstore we work very closely with our suppliers. We love it when suppliers pop in if it’s just for a catch-up or for product demonstrations.
Last week, Ian from T&I solutions came to see us show our team the Concertina Zig Zag Ladders. The Concertina ladders on display to us were of much heavier duty than the likes of the Alu Fix, the Alu Fix is perfect for general consumer use however if looking for something a little more heavy-duty for use in a commercial setting the Zig Zag is the way to go.
Below you will find out a little more about the visit and more importantly further helpful information on the Zig Zag Ladders.
Where Can A Zig Zag Ladder Be Used?
A Zig Zag ladder can be used in a wide range of environments. They are an ideal commercial solution to getting in and out of a loft space, they are perfect for roof and wall openings as well as being an ideal means of escape through plant rooms and other industrial environments.
What were the varieties of Zig Zag Concertina Demonstrated?
There are two varieties of the Zig Zags that we were shown on the day. The two models shown were the Standard Zig Zag and the Slimline.
What is the difference between the Slimline and the Standard?
The size is the main factor between the slimline and the standard version. The weights also differ quite significantly, due to the two different methods used to manufacture these ladders. Both versions of the Zig Zag are made from aluminium however in two different ways. The slimline is manufactured from extruded aluminium, this technique is used to transform aluminium alloy into objects with a definitive cross-sectional profile. The standard version uses die-cast aluminium which is a casting process where the aluminium is hardened into a mould, this is usually stronger and therefore heavier but more robust.
The duty rating also differs from these two models with the standard version boasting a 500kg capacity v 150kg on the Slimline. Please do remember this rating includes the user and any tools or materials being carried up the ladder.
What Accessories and Extras are Available?
Our team found out about a range of accessories that can be added to the Zig Zags. If you require a trapdoor/hatch these can be made to measure for your opening. We can also provide you with an electric version which can be operated by a switch or remote however these are an additional cost. There are also fire rating options, to offer extra protection in the case of fire. Other accessories that can be combined with the T&I Concertina ladders include Telescopic Handrail, Rubber Feet and an Extra Tread.
How Are The Zig Zag Ladders Fitted?
The Zig Zags come with a backboard which allows them to easily be fitted on the loft floor horizontally or vertically on a wall depending on the situation. More detailed fitting instructions can be found on the product pages. If you don’t want to take the fitting into your own hands we can organise installation throughout the UK, for more information don’t hesitate to get in touch.
How Long Does It Take To Get A Zig Zag?
Zig Zag Concertina Ladders are stocked, ready for dispatch as standard. If an order gets to us before 12pm, this will be shipped out the same day. Delivery on standard units should take a maximum of 2 working days. Exceptions to this are when a hatch is required or an electrical element is added as this takes a little longer to manufacture.
