We have recently had an extension built on our house. It is single storey but has a vaulted ceiling with a number of velux fitted and a solid wooden beam running the length of it. We did the decorating ourselves, which was fine as we could use the builders scaffolding, but soon realised that the cleaning and maintenance of the ceiling, Windows and lights would pose a problem. As we are both in our fifties, and not getting any younger, we started to look at what we could get to overcome the problem.
We looked at scaffolding towers, extendable ladders and anything else that was on the market, and eventually decided on a large stepladder. We needed to be able to get it up and down fairly easily and to feel safe while up it.
When it arrived we initially thought that it was two steps too big but after using it we found that we felt safer on it as we would not have to stretch to reach any part of our ceiling or Windows. It feels very stable and does not slip at all. We both feel very safe on it.
Only negative was that we ordered the handrails to go with it but they were not included, and we are still waiting for them to arrive.
We chose Ladderstore as it was the most competitive on price and delivery time was good.
