Do aluminium extension ladders rust & Can I use an aluminium extension ladder outside?

Aluminium ladders do not rust and therefore are more suited to outside use than fibreglass. However, with this said using storing aluminium ladders outside long term should be avoided. The reason for this is that although aluminium will not rust, the other components on the ladder such as plastic could be compromised as sunlight can break down these materials over time.

Which is better aluminium or fibreglass extension ladders?

Aluminium and fibreglass both have their advantages and disadvantages when it comes to extension ladders. Most ladder users will choose aluminium extension ladders as they are lightweight yet strong and cost-effective, however, fibreglass ladders are perfect around electricity and in corrosive environments.
