Is inspecting a tower a legal requirement?
Inspecting a scaffold tower is particularly important and should be done at different stages when assembling a scaffold tower. The HSE recommends that all towers are inspected in detail once it has been assembled, in addition to these regular inspections should continue to take place as the work is carried out, especially when starting and stopping work. If a tower is used for construction work and the height of the tower exceeds 2m it must be thoroughly inspected on assembly and every seven days. Boss Tags are a simple way to record the results of these inspections.
