Companionway Ladder 3 - 3.5 m
Metric Converter
- Class BS 5395 Part 3
Details
Companionway or ship ladders as they are sometimes known offer an easier alternative to fixed vertical ladders, especailly when under 3m. Complying with the recommendations of BS5395: Part 3 Companionway Ladders are fixed to the same high standard and with their sloped, inclined design, provide even more stable secure access while still maintaining the flexibility required to suit most site conditions and locations. Companionway ladders above 3m need an intermediate platform in order to operate.
Main Features Include:
- Compliant with BS5395: Part 3
- Deep non-slip treads
- Manufactured in strong, lightweight aluminium
- Easier and more comfortable to climb than traditional vertical ladders
- Can be powder coated to standard RAL colours or anodised for an improved finish
Handrail Options:
There are three options for handrails on the companionway ladders.
Standard Handrails - These are as shown on images 1 and 2.
Extended Handrails - The extended handrails are shown on image three and come straight up to assist you when standing on a platform.
Extended Handrails With Return - The extended handrails with return are the looped handrails that can be seen in image 4. These fix to the platform above.
When purchasing a companionway over 3m, we recommend a full risk assessment to be carried out to decide if a platform is needed. For more information please don't hesitate to give our team a call or contact us here.
