On Tuesday, Philip from Bolton Lads & Girls Club contacted us to see if we could help with some equipment for their BLGC Renov8 project. Of course we could.....!
We provided The BLGC Renov8 project with two Youngman Odd Job 600 Hop-Up Work Platforms to allow them to remove tiles and wallpaper from the ceiling.
Onsite we spoke to Philip Burke, Enterprise Delivery Manager at BLGC about the project.
"Bolton Lads & Girls Club set up the project to help a group of members who are not in education, employment or training, who have a number of barriers, with an opportunity to refurbish a house. Gaining skills in a number of trades as well as gaining essential qualifications on the way, working alongside skills tradespeople from many businesses such as Seddon and MA Brickworks.
We aim that they will all gain employment, hopefully in construction with 3 of the group already been offered opportunities.
We also hope the house will make a small margin to allow us to continue to offer innovative projects to give our members a greater chance of gaining their career.
The members will gain a Level 1 in Construction Skills, Maths and English Level 2, CSCS card, Manual handling, First Aid and Ladder Safety.
As health and safety is paramount and we have a number of people onsite, we needed two hop ups to help us complete the respective works without them needing to stretch or wait to use a single apparatus.
Special thanks to Ladderstore for supplying the essential items which will be used on a daily basis until completion of the project."
