I found Ladder log on the web and recognised that its format and style would suit the stores around the cityresponse plants. The staff working in the stores needed a user friendly system, but above all, one where results and records could be printed off as hard copy - a simple at-a-glance check, vital when you are dealing with as many as 60 to 80 ladders at any one time.

Online ladder and access equipment specialist, Ladderstore.com, has launched a new trailer bed ladder, offering simple, flexible access to a variety of vehicles.

Available in two sizes, a 6-tread for a maximum bed height of 1.15 m and a 7-tread for a maximum bed height of 1.4 m, the ladder is made in the UK and conforms to BS2037 Class 1 performance specification.

Easy and quick to attach to any curtain-sided trailer, the ladder deploys in seconds, hooking on to the edge of or under the trailer, or on the u-section. It has a folding hand post, making it light, compact and easy to store. Treads rather than rungs are said to make the ladder safe and easy to climb.

Ladderstore.com is the only internet retailer to work alongside the HSE's annual ladder exchange initiative.

Best Practice UK

Access solutions provider Ladderstore.com provides off-the-shelf and bespoke solutions to the problems associated with unsafe vehicle-access ladders.

The company says three of its vehicle-access ladder models – the adjustable trailer-bed ladder; the lockable loadstep vehicle-access ladder; and the lightweight vehicle-access ladder – can all be easily stored on a lorry, and they fit securely to a wide range of trailers.

Ladderstore also provides mobile double-decker trailer-access platforms. These have been developed to suit as many vehicle types as possible, says the company, but can also be tailored to meet specific requirements. The two large platform areas are said to make loading and unloading both safe and comfortable.
