"Don't get done with a 'dodgy' ladder", that's the message from Bolton-based Ladderstore.com for companies who don't keep a careful eye on their ladders and risk the health and safety of their staff. The company's message is in support of the 2010 Ladder Exchange which starts on 1st September with Ladderstore an HSE campaign partner for the fourth year.

16th September 2010 - Haydock Park Racecourse, Newton-Le-Willows WA12 0HQ

This is one of a series of free partnership events run by the industry for the industry, as part of the UK-wide Working Well Together (WWT) campaign. The aim is not only to raise awareness of key health and safety issues facing the construction industry specific to your trade, but also to give practical advice on how toavoid risks on construction sites.

With some 2 million ladders thought to be in daily use, they remain an invaluable piece of workplace equipment. However, the majority of users have never received any formal training in the way they should be positioned and used. That's why the association is now campaigning for professional training in all aspects of ladder use, including risk assessment and inspection.

September 1st saw the launch of the 2009 HSE ladder safety campaign and once again Ladderstore is one of the campaign partners. As a provider of ladders, bespoke access solutions, ladder safety tagging systems and safety training, Ladderstore is well placed to support the initiative.

ladder_news_hse_logo…..emotive words from the HSE - and the name given to its latest campaign to reduce the number of slips, trips or fall accidents at work. Ladderstore heard about this new initiative and knew that it had to be involved. Yes, we are a company out to sell products, but we do so with a conscience and we make no bones about the fact that we want everyone to use the ladders, steps and access equipment we sell, safely.
Tony Almond is our point of contact at the HSE for Shattered Lives. When we met with him we had a lot of questions surrounding the HSE’s objectives and on learning more we did not hesitate to commit.
