MidMade Folding Timber Loft Ladder - 540 x 1130mm Extra Insulation

These MidMade ladders are typical of the Scandinavian approach to design. Simple and straightforward to install and use, built to exacting standards using the best materials available and at a sensible mid range price. They are certified according to ISO 9001 and 14001.

These ladders are manufactured in coniferous wood. The spring-balanced trap door is painted with a white base coat and insulated with either 30 mm polystyrene or 70 mm. (You can make your choice from the options below). The face of the trap door can be painted or clad to blend in with your current décor. The recessed sealing lock is easy to manoeuvre with an opening handle and fitted with an espagnolette lock with two bolts. The ladders fit on the trap door when folded, therefore no loft clearance is required. Protective pads are included to prevent the ladder from leaving marks on the floor, and can be fitted after you have trimmed the ladders to perfectly fit your space.

An extension piece is available which allows the ladders to fit a floor to ceiling height of up to 3.2 metres. Other options include a safety handrail and a loft guard rail kit, in either timber or aluminium. Delivered assembled, complete with frame and detailed installation instructions, including step by step pictures, making this a fairly straightforward ladder to install. The fully insulated hatch comes with a choice of 30mm, or the 'Nordic climate' special 70mm, of insulation and a sealing strip which prevents heat loss, downward draughts and saves you money on your heating bills. Protective felt pads are included and can be attached after adjusting the ladder length.

Very pleased with the product and the service.

The ladder was straightforward to fit, is robust and sturdy. The unit is plain (no frills) but the instructions are thankfully equally plain! The insulated hatch has made a huge difference to our home and the sudden ease of access to the loft storage has made life that bit easier. Just what I wanted.
The ladder has now been in place for over a year without any issues and I'm delighted with it.

I was also very pleased with the excellent service provided by the LadderStore. Plenty of communication, prompt delivery and a competitive price - if only every supplier could be as good. (Posted on 05/01/2011)
