The Compact Mobile Fire Escape Ladders are compact and can be deployed quickly. They are the ideal solution if you want to use a portable fire escape ladder but have too limited a space around the window to attach either a mobile hook-ladder or a permanently installed boxed ladder, or if you want to exit from a balcony or over a railing. This mobile rescue ladder is TUV-certified to the German standard BGI 638 and is used in over 50 countries by Individuals, Fire Brigades and Rescue Services.

Compact Fire Escape Ladders (Without Distance Pieces) - 4.5 m

These escape ladders are made in Germany from the most innovative of designs and to the highest manufacturing standards. They are specifically designed for use in two areas. Firstly, where there is limited space around the window and you cannot install the standard escape ladder boxes. Instead you install a much smaller steel bar (305mm x 70mm) in the space you have. In an emergency the strong metal hook of the escape ladder is hooked over the wall mounted bar and the ladders deployed.

Secondly, the strong metal hook of the ladders can be hooked over the railing of a balcony (max diameter 70mm) to allow safe descent from a balcony or over a railing obstruction.
,br> The Compact Escape Ladders come in a variety of lengths to suit the needs of everyone from householders to companies based in larger office blocks. They are designed to withstand a load of 300 kg (47 st) and certified to the German Standard BGI 638. The rungs are a comfortable 330mm wide and are set every 315mm.

Ordering as a Balcony / Railing Escape Ladder If you buying these ladders to descend from a balcony you will not need to select the distance pieces options or buy the optional wall mounted bar. The distance pieces are designed to keep the ladders off a wall so that you can get your feet safely into each rung. Since you will be descending from a balcony there will be no need for these.

Ordering as a Window Escape Ladder If you are buying these ladders to exit from a window down the wall of a house or office you will need to select the distance pieces option and purchase the optional wall mounted steel bar. The distance pieces keep the ladders off the wall so that you can easily and safely get your feet into the rungs as you descend. The steel bar is fitted underneath the window sill and is the anchor point for the hooks on the ladder. All instructions and fixings are supplied to correctly install the bar.

An optional red Ladder Storage Box is also available for ladders up to 11m / 36 ft. Easy to recognise this box keeps the ladders protected and ready for swift deployment and can be attached in a prominent position close to the point of use.
