As part of the BBC's coverage of the 2016 Budget, our Managing Director Gail Hounslea provided a business response to the Budget on BBC Television, Radio 4 MoneyBox programme and the BBC News Channel.

"It was great to be asked to appear on the BBC's coverage of the Budget this year. I discussed the cut in business rates from 2017 and how that would affect businesses such as Ladderstore. The cut in corporation tax in 2020 was also mentioned" said Gail.

"I also discussed the development of the HS3 link between Leeds & Manchester which plans to cut the journey time to 30 minutes. Along with the widening of the M62 to 4 lanes, this should provide definite benefits to businesses such as ourselves who use logistical partners."

"Apprenticeships are a key part of our business, so having the ability to discuss these in the BBC's coverage was also a great opportunity. As a school governor, sharing my opinion of the academy schools programme was important too"

You can see Gail's appearance on the BBC's 2016: The Budget 2016 programme on iPlayer at 3 hours 29 minutes and 30 seconds.
