All You Need To Know About Rolling Ladders

Rolling Ladders Blog Header

As you may already know, we provide businesses and individuals with bespoke and specialist access equipment, including rolling ladders. You can see our rolling ladders in bars, libraries, cottages and even bedrooms. It is now possible to order online, simply complete the five stated below, add your accessories and add to your cart.

  1. Choose a Ladder Chassis Type

What's the difference? A standard Chassis is fixed to the track and cannot be removed, however, a chassis with ladder release can be taken off the track and stored away if required. Please note, that the ladder can be removed but the chassis can not.

  1. Choose a Track Length
  2. Choose a Wood Type
  3. Enter Exact Track Length
  4. Enter Track Length.

It’s really that easy. Once the item is added to the cart and paid for, we work closely with our supplier to get your drawings, you sign them off and then your order will be ready for production.

Frequently Asked Questions

We have answered a range of questions regarding rolling ladders and thought we would share our frequently asked questions with you to clear up any confusion you may have.

What Materials can I select?

When selecting the materials for your rolling ladder the following materials are available; Oak, Redwood, Maple and Walnut. If you are unsure what materials you require, let us know, and we can send you some samples.

Can The Rolling Ladder Be Removed?

The rolling ladder can be removed if you select the ‘Ladder Chassis with Ladder Release’. This allows you to remove the ladder to use elsewhere or to store it away. Please note although the ladder can be removed the chassis cannot.

How long does my rolling ladder take to be made?

Once the drawing has been signed off by you it usually takes 4 weeks to manufacture your bespoke rolling ladder. This is because it is made to order specifically to your requirements.

I have my own ladder, can I purchase a Track & Chassis without the ladder?

The short answer is Yes. The new style chassis is in 2 pieces so the stile width can vary without it creating a problem.  If you require any further information you can take a look at our Rolling Ladder Product page at our 12 questions asked by customers, alternatively give us a call on 01204 590 232.

Case Studies

So far we have collected two customer case studies in which we have solved our customer's access problems with a rolling ladder. The first case study was for our customer Mr Mitchell who wanted an easy way to access his mezzanine level gym area and we also helped another customer solve their storage problem in the 16th-century cottage. If you require more information on these two case studies you can download the PDFs on our product page in the downloads section. There you can also find fitting instructions and technical specifications.

“I just wanted to say thank you for the Bespoke Rolling Ladder. It looks amazing and my daughter is over the moon with her bedroom. We have gone very modern with the house but her room is the best by far!” (Bryn, Cargo Consult)

"Jacky Hopps was super-helpful. She spent time with me discussing what was right for my situation and we came up with an unpainted wooden rolling ladder. I am delighted. She even helped me choose a colour!  (Paul)

"Quality of mechanism and ladder made to high standards. The ladder will place a lot of force on the runner system due to the leverage, not a lot can be done about that, the runner system must be kept at a high-quality level. (Greenfield Mill)
